Anna / short film

As the mother of two children and the wife of a coma patient, Anna comes to the realization after nine years that her family has fallen into a profound silence. Left to navigate the challenges alone with her two young children, Anna channels all her energy into preserving her family unit.

Michele, their neighbour from the house next door, emerges as a supportive figure during this difficult time. Over the course of two years, he assists Anna with household chores and cares for the children. Despite Michele developing romantic feelings for Anna, she finds herself unable to reciprocate.

Feeling isolated, Anna struggles to fully embrace the idea of starting anew with Michele and integrating him into her family life. Wrestling with her own emotions, she maintains a distance, a sentiment reinforced when her son Sami mistakenly refers to the friendly neighbour as "dad" for the first time.

As tensions rise and discussions unfold, Anna faces a pivotal moment where she must make a decision. While Michele represents the paternal figure her children crave, Anna grapples with the uncertainty of involving herself romantically with him.

This narrative transcends more than love and desire; it is a journey of self-discovery, justice, and the paramount importance of family. Anna's actions are driven by her unwavering commitment to her family's well-being and her steadfast determination to uphold her promises and responsibilities.
